I'm Breaking Some Rules Today

Welcome to a beautiful Saturday afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the fresh songs of the week. Once again, the first two picks are not mine, but the last one is all me. Let's get into it shall we?

MMVA's are this weekend, so we're going all Canadian.

The top video from Much More Music is Avril Lavigne's Smile, but I don't like that song, so I'm going to post the number 3 video (because I can). So, the top video according to me is Bruno Mars' Lazy Song

The top song according to the MuchMusic countdown is Who Says by Selena Gomez. Now, although she's from my culture, I just can't put that on this blog. The number two song will be featured instead, and this one's a party number and a half, Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO

And then, of course, is the fresh pick. This one is a fresh remix. From one of my favorite remix/mashup groups, White Panda we got Good For Girls. Mixing up some Wale Pretty Girls, with a little Matt & Kim Good for Great. It comes together to romance your ears in a magical way.

I realize this is a little later than usual, and that they're not the number one songs, but I felt rebellious so I had to break a few rules. Now comes the time where I get you guys to like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter and here on Google. Also, please tell your friends about this, the more people who read this the better.

And of course, as is tradition on Saturday we got out weekly shout outs. Shout to my boys Jlieb, Suchs, and JDA aka number 91 for talking to be about the blog and giving me suggestions/motivation to keep it going. They've really helped me clear my mind and pick good songs for the week. Shout out to anyone who's been promoting the page on Facebook. Big shout out to the dads out there, especially mine, he's my idol and he's pretty awesome, he's helped shape me into the man I am today and I am thankful for that. And of course shout out to my manager, and the man who keeps everything running smoothly even though I screw up all the time, Dave aka CreelmanKid. I'll be back tomorrow, ya that's right, there will be a song tomorrow in honor of Father's Day. Until then...

Stay Fresh,

Let's Take It Back To The Concrete Streets

The J5, and I ain't talking about Micheal

Ladies and gentlemen, the time is here. It is finally Friday, with this day many things come to an end. The end of a stressful week, the end of spring classes, etc. With endings new beginnings/hopes arise. The chance to devote more time to this blog, and the hope that the next week will be better than the last, but not better than the next. As customary on Friday I got you guys a feel good track that will hopefully bring a smile to your face and have you feeling all joyous and jubilant for the weekend. The hope is that all the bad things that happened this past week get brushed off by this audio and that a good feeling is the only thing that remains. Leaving you refreshed (see what I did there?) and renewed for the weekend/following week. So, without further adieu, I present Jurassic 5 with Concrete Schoolyard. Sit back, relax and enjoy the song. It's Feel Good Friday!

As always like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and here on the blog. And please please please spread the word about this. Tell everyone you know. Post it on your Facebook, Twitter, etc. Every little bit helps. Rate/Comment below or on Facebook. I'll be back tomorrow with the Fresh pick. Until then...

It's A Man's World, But I Understand

Throwback Thursday? You bet it is!

Now although this song never reached number 1 on any major charts, it definitely reached number 1 in our hearts (this is according to Wikipedia, the hearts thing, well, who the hell doesn't like this song). Fresh song out of 03, it really just added to the duet power of Ashanti and Ja Rule. This song brings back memories of when times where much simpler and where summer wasn't defined by jobs and summer classes. Instead, summer was just a time to hangout all day without any sense of responsibility. Shout out to my boy JDA aka number 91 for reminding me of this track. So, sit back, relax and enjoy a little flash to when times where much simpler.

Also remember to like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter and directly on here. I'll be back tomorrow with a feel good track. Until then...

Let Me Freak The Funk

A music video played in reverse? I like it!

First ever music video Wednesday and I had to start it off right. Now, although many other days do feature music videos, on Music Video Wednesdays, the song is picked because of the music video. So, all these picks are based off what the music video does. Creativity and uniqueness is rewarded on Wednesdays. There's not much to say about this video. Except that it is legendary! The Pharcyde killed it with there creativity. I'd rather the video do the talking than me. So, although this is shorter than usual, sit back, relax and enjoy.

Also, please tell everyone about this page and also follow on Twitter and like us on Facebook and also like us right here on Google, and then you can comment and stuff right on here. You can also comment/rate below or on Facebook. I'll be back tomorrow with a throwback track. Until then...

Queen City

Local Talent Tuesdays, gotta start it off right with the theme song to the Queen City

Now, this one right here holds extra value as I consider Rubiks a friend, this song is absolutely delicious and should really be considered as the anthem to Regina. I don't know what the anthem is now......but it certainly isn't as good as this. Skillaboo, Rubiks, Keshia Angeline, straight killing it. This song is sure to be stuck in your head for a good, long time. So, sit back, relax and enjoy the journey and pleasure that is the 306, and the Queen City.

Also, Rubiks' mixtape is officially out and available for download here:
I AM RUBIKS MUSIC VOLUME 1

I definitely think you guys should all download it, upload it to your Ipod, or Zune (lol). Or cut a compact disc/tape. You should really support local music, and really super support it if that local music is dope. Yeah. So definitely download it and enjoy, I can personally vouch for it and can honestly say that it is absolutely fantastic.

You can also like him on Facebook.
And follow him on Twitter.

A reminder, please, tell everyone you know about the page. Hell, tell people you don't know. Say you see a stranger walking down the street, pull over, give him a handshake and tell him about this page. Also, leave comments below on your thoughts, or leave comments on the Facebook page. I'll be back tomorrow with a music video for yall. Until then...

Let Me Get You Motivated

First ever Motivation Monday, lets make it a good one.

The premise behind Motivation Monday is to get you nice and amped up for the week. We know it's Monday, and sometimes people struggle to get their week off on the right foot, and then they complain about how much they hate Mondays. Well, we're trying to make them a little better for you. This song, straight off T-Pain's PreRevolver mixtape is one to surely get you motivated. Hell, the song is called Motivated, if you're not pumped up after this somethings wrong with you. Seriously, go to a doctor, get a full physical, because you might be dying. Now, T-Pain made this a contest allowing anyone to throw down a verse and then he would pick the best one and feature it on his mixtape. He did not just pick one, instead he picked the best two. Both of which get you nice and motivated. Check out both and tell me which one your favorite is.

I hope you guys have a stellar day and I'll see you tomorrow. Until then....

Stay fresh,
RG
